Leanne Hardacre, aged 21, and from Harrogate is currently in Beijing competing against 11 of the most talented young fashion designers in the world.
Leanne is competing to win the izzue x Tsinghua Fashion Design Award 2014 and needs support to win the ‘People’s Choice Award’.

The talented young fashion designer, and former St. John Fisher’s pupil, has just graduated from University of Salford with a First Class Honours degree. During her last year, her final collection was selected to be showcased on the catwalk at Graduate Fashion Week in London.
She is currently in Beijing for the competition organised by clothes shop izzue and has had just a few days to design and make an outfit out of the shop’s leftover stock to be judged by international experts from the likes of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and the Royal College of Art for the ‘Best Design Award’. Leanne also has the chance to win the ‘People’s Choice Award’ decided by online voting.
Leanne is one of only three students in the final from UK universities and is the first ever student from Salford University to take part.
There is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the overall winner of izzue x Tsinghua Fashion Design Award 2014 who will create a capsule collection with izzue design team, to be sold in stores, on top of cash reward.
Leanne said: I could never have dreamed about having an opportunity like this to launch my fashion career.
I am so honoured to be taking part in the izzue x Tsinghua Fashion Design Award 2014. It’s really hard work but this is what I absolutely love to do and I am relishing every minute of it (although I am missing some home comforts!)
