Pupils and staff at The Forest School in Knaresborough are saying fond farewells this week to a highly respected member of staff who is retiring after 25 years in the school.
Mrs.Sandra Davey has spent the last 25 years as a member of support staff at the school for children and young people with special educational needs.
Headteacher, Peter Hewitt said: Everyone at the school is sad to say goodbye to our longest serving member of staff, but also delighted to celebrate all she has done during her time here.
Sandra has had an amazing impact upon the education and personal development of so many children and young people. The lives of many many pupils and families have been enhanced because of the support and advice she has given to them”.
All of her colleagues view her as someone who can always be relied upon to share her experience, knowledge and understanding of working with special needs pupils. Sandra is highly respected amongst staff and pupils here because the advice she gives is always thoughtful, well measured, sensitively given and clearly understood. Sandra always puts children first and is totally committed to provide the very best for them’.
More than that, Sandra has been a true friend to so many of her colleagues over the years and we all wish her a very happy retirement.
