Police investigating the murder of a woman at a guest house in Bridlington need to locate a man in connection with the incident.
John HEALD 53 years, from South Yorkshire, is believed to have been staying at the hotel but has since left and police want to talk to him as a matter of urgency.
Humberside Police received the call shortly before midnight on Friday 18 July to the premises on Marshall Avenue in Bridlington.
A woman had been found with critical injuries at the address and was believed to be dead.
Police officers and the ambulance service attended immediately and the woman was confirmed deceased.
She is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be a 49-year-old Bridlington woman.
Inquiries quickly identified John Heald as having been resident at the premises and who may be connected with the death.
Detectives urgently need to trace him and urge him, or anyone who knows his whereabouts to contact Humberside Police immediately on telephone 01377 208989.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Matt Baldwin, said: It is imperative that we locate John Heald as soon as possible and I would appeal to him to make contact with us urgently.
If anyone has been contacted by Mr Heald or knows anything about his whereabouts, I would ask them to do the right thing, do not be swayed by a misguided sense of loyalty, ring the police now.
I am appealing particularly to people such as taxi drivers, hitchhikers, those using buses or trains as I believe he may well have tried to leave the area and could now be well away from East Yorkshire.
Any members of the public who may see Mr Heald should not approach him as he is considered dangerous but should ring the police immediately on 999, as should anyone who thinks they might have seen him since the police were first alerted to the death at midnight.
John Heald is described as white, slim build, with short, grey hair, when last seen he was wearing smart jeans and also had a distinctive diamond stud earring in his right ear.
