Motorists are being urged to avoid the A64 after a lorry spilled its load near Malton.
The lorry, which was carrying mashed potato, lost around a quarter of its contents onto the carriageway to the west of Malton at Crambeck junction, at around 3.25pm on Saturday 21 June 2014.
The lorry was travelling westbound towards York, before the road becomes a dual carriageway. Nobody was injured in the incident.
Police and the fire service are currently at the scene of the incident and the road has been closed in both directions at the Castle Howard junction.
Drivers are being advised to take an alternative route, while the emergency services clear the carriageway. It is not known how long the road will be closed for at this time.
