Yorkshire furniture design specialist Dovetailors has launched a contemporary-look bike shelf ahead of the arrival in the county of the world’s biggest cycle race next month.
To celebrate Le Tour Yorkshire, the design team came up with the idea of a stylish timber shelf which cycling enthusiasts can use to store and display their bikes.
Minimal in form and with clean lines, the shelf can be crafted in a choice of timbers and features a soft leather inlay to protect the top tube. It can also be personalised with a stripe of colour to co-ordinate with the bike or room interiors.
Dovetailors designer Jason Winder said the shelf had been designed with bike owners and cycling shops in mind.
Jason said: It has been specifically designed to make a feature of the bike and as such would be ideal for use in store as well as in the home.
There is so much enthusiasm for the Tour throughout Yorkshire that we wanted to create something unique and practical for cyclists to mark the occasion.
The Tour Bike Shelf has been designed with a wide, flat surface which is ideal for storing a helmet and accessories. It can easily be fixed to the wall with a simple, strong bracket and requires minimal tools.
The shelf is a bespoke product which can be made in different sizes, finishes and even sculpted to accommodate curved bike frames.
