On the 12 June 2014, Harrogate elected its new Mayor and leader of the Borough Council.
In a formal ceremony at the Royal Hall, Cllr Jim Clark was elected Mayor for 2014/ 2015, taking over from Cllr Michael Newby.
Richard Cooper was also elected as the leader of the Council, taking over from Councillor Anthony Alton.
