Cyclist knocked off bike in Pateley Bridge

Police are appealing for witnesses and the driver of a Land Rover and trailer to contact them after a cyclist was knocked over near Pateley Bridge.

The collision happened at around 3.30pm on Sunday 8 June 2014, near the Bridge Inn on Low Wath Road.

The cyclist was travelling towards Pateley Bridge when he was overtaken by a Land Rover towing a trailer.

The Land Rover then had to pull back in front of the cyclist to avoid an oncoming vehicle.

The cyclist, a man from the Harrogate area, was hit by the trailer and fell off his cycle, sustaining minor injuries.

The driver of the Land Rover did not stop at the scene and continued travelling towards Pateley Bridge.

Police are appealing for the driver to contact the police along with anyone else who witnessed the collision.
