Harrogate International Centre (HIC) has made an investment in the latest visual technology as it strengthens its position in the conference industry.
A £36,000 high definition wide-screen projector has been installed in HIC’s main 2000-seat auditorium and has been described as ‘the flagship industry model’ by the venue’s technical manager, Ross Simpson (pictured).
Ross said: Conferences today, particularly our medical and clinical conferences, need hi-res images and film.
Very few venues can boast this kind of technology.
The new projector gives us wide-screen capability and we have a much better and more clearly defined image.
The investment comes as HIC continues to enjoy a surge in high-profile events at its main auditorium – recently announcing it would host annual conferences by the National Union of Teachers, the British Medical Association and the Royal College of Physicians.
HIC Director, Simon Kent said: This is a top-end piece of equipment and represents a major investment in our facilities at HIC.
Our main auditorium is attracting more and more big conferences and we have had two major launches over the past 12 months including the recent start of the 100-day countdown to the Tour de France in Yorkshire.
We have to make sure we stay ahead of the game and it’s essential we invest. The new projector is just one of the ways we are making sure we deliver the best for our visitors.
