Wanted York man hunted by police

2 May 2014

Detectives in York are asking for the public’s help to locate a man wanted for recall to prison.
Thomas Metcalf, 25, is wanted for recall to prison as he has failed to comply with the terms of his release licence.
He was released from prison on Wednesday 23 April 2014, having been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment on Friday 19 July 2013, for attempted burglary.
Metcalf is described as white, 6ft tall with a medium build and brown hair.
Although his whereabouts are not known it is believed that Metcalf is in the York area.

Detective Inspector Dave Kirby, of York CID, said: Thomas, if you see or hear this appeal, my advice is that you hand yourself in at the earliest opportunity. We will not stop looking for you until you are back in custody and we have a proven track record of locating wanted people. You are only delaying the inevitable and making the eventual outcome worse for yourself.
I am also asking anyone who sees Metcalf to contact the police immediately.

Police officers have already made visits to addresses where Metcalf has links and these visits will continue until he has been arrested. Anyone who is shielding him should know that they are not helping him. They may even be committing offences by obstructing the police and, if this is the case, they face the prospect of prosecution.

Anyone who can help to locate Thomas Metcalf should contact North Yorkshire police on 101, select option 1 and pass the details to the Force Control Room.
Or to pass information on anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
