North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority met today (12 February 2014) to agree the budget for the 2014-15 financial year.
As part of this meeting, approval was given for a council tax increase of 1.99%. Although an increase of 4% and no increase were considered, under Government policy 1.99% was the highest percentage increase that the Authority could set without the need for a referendum.
For the average council tax payer (Valuation Band D) this means they will pay an extra £1.23 a year.
