Harrogate – Brackenfield School teacher, Alison Balsamini is the latest winner of the Outstanding Contribution to Schools Rugby League Award.
This award recognises Alison’s contribution to Ruby League since 2006 when she formed a Rugby League team in Settle. Her team went on to become North Yorkshire champions and won the National title in 2009.
Since joining Brackenfield she has again founded a team that has gone on to enter the Champion Schools competition.
Another notable achievement for her came when one of her team members, Lauren Stallwood recently broke in the England women’s side having been introduced to the sport by Alison.
President of the RFL, David Oxley MBE, presented Alison Balsamini with the award in front of the school and praised Alison for her achievements in the sport.
