The Acorn Apres Ski Christmas party which took place in a PapaKata tent at Ripley raised over £22,000 bringing the total raised by the charity this year to almost £105,000 which is a record for the charity.
The evening was attended by 431 guests who enjoyed dinner by well-known chef, Michael Kernall, an auction and grand draw followed by dancing.
The auction was conducted by Tim Waring of Knight Frank and prizes in the auction and grand draw included a skiing holiday in the French Alps, overnight stays at the Hotel du Vin, Harrogate and the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in London and a diamond pendant kindly donated by Berry’s Jewellers.
The Acorn Committee raises funds for people with dementia and their carers in the Harrogate, Wetherby and Ripon area and for research into scleroderma disease at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
