Harrogate based organisers, Galloway Antiques Fairs, have said they are delighted to be returning to an old haunt of theirs for the first of their antiques and fine art fairs of 2014.
The Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate will be host to the 3-day event starting on Friday 10 January 2014.
Some 30 dealers will be travelling from across the country hoping to sell a wide range of items at this fair: Mark Buckley from Skipton will have an elegant range of quality inlaid Victorian and Edwardian town furniture in walnut, rosewood and mahogany, whereas Adrian Harris Antiques from Sedbergh and Country Oak Antiques from Harrogate will bring along a much more country feel with their early period oak furniture.
Silver is well represented with Highland Antiques travelling down from Aberdeen with a great selection of Scottish and Scottish provincial silver, whereas Local dealer Jack Shaw Ltd from Ilkley will have more of a choice of antique table silver, canteens being his speciality.
Jewellery is as always very popular, and among the jewellers exhibiting a beautiful selection of Edwardian, Victorian, Art Deco and vintage jewellery at The Old Swan will be Saul Greenstein of London, Scarab of Kent and Anderson Jones.
Among the ceramic specialists will be John Newton from Yorkshire who will have a wide range of 19th and 20th century ceramics, specialising in silver overlay porcelain from the mid 20th century. Local dealer Bryan Bowden of Harrogate will have a selection of British pottery and porcelain for sale, Bryan specialises in Northern ceramics (pre 1850).
Fine art will be offered by J C Fine Art of West Yorkshire, Ruth Hudson from Wakefield and local dealer Graham Reed Fine Art while more general dealers will include Elisabeth Glen Antiques from Norfolk, Jane Kirsopp Reed Antiques from Newcastle, Village-on-the-web from York and Redbusart from Ayrshire.
