Ripon police are continuing their investigations following what has been described as mindless vandalism in the city.
On or around Saturday 28 December 2013, two wooden sculptures in the Spa Gardens were vandalised in a deliberate act. The Alice in Wonderland themed sculptured was damaged – a caterpillar has had its head removed and a rabbit its nose.
Inspector Ratcliffe of Ripon police has described it as an appalling act that has offended a lot of people. It is also a planned and deliberate act as those responsible went to the park equipped with a saw.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
