Santa Claus will be officially opening Harrogate Christmas Market on Thursday, 28 November 2013 – with help from his elves and reindeer.
Arriving at the Market on St Mary’s Walk, Harrogate, Santa will be welcomed by the Mayor of the Borough of Harrogate, Coun Michael Newby, who will help to cut the ribbon and declare the Market officially open.
Santa will then take his place in the Grotto for the next four days, where he and his elves and reindeer are looking forward to welcoming hundreds of children who will receive a special gift and can also have their photo taken.
Brian Dunsby, who has organized Harrogate Christmas Market along with his wife, Beryl, said:
Having Santa and his reindeer with us really is the icing on the cake for Harrogate Christmas Market.
We’re looking forward to an exciting opening ceremony, with help from local school children and many of our Market traders, and everyone is welcome to join us.
Harrogate Christmas Market aims to support local businesses and the wider community by bringing more people into the town during the festive season. Our motto is ‘shop locally, celebrate locally’ and we hope everyone will show us their support this Christmas.
Harrogate Christmas Market will be officially opened at 10.30am on Thursday, 28 November 2013, and will run until Sunday, 1 December 2013.
It will include products from across Yorkshire and beyond, as well as children’s fairground rides, live music from local buskers, freshly made food and drink and thousands of gifts and decorations for Christmas.
