Construction work set to start on Parliament Street re-development

8 October 2013

Construction work will start in October on the £9m Harrogate House restaurant scheme on Parliament Street in Harrogate.

The developer, Lateral Property Group, has appointed Leeds based GMI Construction as contractor. The project will represent significant investment on the street, which is already home to the world famous Bettys cafe, Wagamama, Restaurant Bar & Grill and one of the North’s most famous night clubs, The Viper Rooms.

The four new units will consolidate Parliament Street’s position as one of the prime restaurant and leisure pitches in the North of England providing much-needed large space opportunities in this physically constrained Victorian Spa town.

Lateral’s Retail Development Director Marcus Briggs said:

We are delighted to be commencing another project with GMI. When complete, this will deliver a stunning scheme in the heart of Harrogate with an enviable restaurant line up anchored by Jamie’s Italian in time for the Tour de France coming past their front doors on 5th July 2014.
