Police officers are currently assisting the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service following a boat fire in York.
It occurred at just after 7.30pm on Saturday 28 September 2013, involving a boat which was moored near to the King’s Arms, King’s Staith, on the River Ouse.
There is nothing to suggest there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire and it is believed that everyone who was on the boat has been accounted for.
Riverside businesses have been evacuated while fire-fighters work to extinguish the blaze.
There is no immediate danger to the public. However, the fire is producing a large amount of smoke and people should avoid the area.
