Coast to Coast run passes through Harrogate

26 September 2013

On Monday 23rd Sept 2013 Scott Farmer started the biggest challenge of his life – running from Scarborough Pier to the Eric Morecambe statue, Morecambe, a  total of 123 miles running  just over 24.5 miles a day in 5 days.

The run will raise money for Help for Heroes who provide vital support and rehabilitation to our countries injured soldiers.

On Wednesday  (25 Sept 2013) he passed through Harrogate and was joined by Paul Cording, a traffic inspector with the North Yorkshire Police also joined the run. The Harrogate leg took him through knaresbough, Harrogate and onto the Army Foundation College and Menwith Hill.

Paul said:

Scott contacted me for advise about running on the road and ever since then I have been in close contact with him on twitter.

Some local businesses have been fantastic, the Cairn Hotel have provide them with accommodation for him and the support crew.

We have just had a fantastic reception at the Army Foundation College and we are now running to Menwith Hill.

I tried to do as much as possible to support him over the Harrogate stretch and then thought why not do this section of  the run with him.
