North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that they recently dealt with an incident of a cat being poisoned with anti-freeze in the Jennyfields area of Harrogate.
Rumours have been circulating for a a number of weeks that there were an a number of cases of cats being poisoned but they are unfounded say the police.
An incident was reported to both the police and RSPCA where an individual had used meat that had been covered in anti-freeze, in the belief that it would act only as a deterrant – the person has been spoken to by the police and the matter now closed.
