Harrogate police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man suspected of acts of inappropriate touching in the town.
They occurred at around 8.30pm on Saturday 13 April 2013, as an uninvited guest entered a function room at the Crown Hotel, where a wedding reception was taking place.
The suspect tried to engage a group of women stood outside the hotel in conversation before touching one of them on the bottom. He then entered the function room and sat beside a 12-year-old girl and put his hand on her knee.
The man was confronted by guests at the wedding, who escorted him from the hotel.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged 50 to 60 years old, around 5ft 10in tall with a medium build and short dark hair. He was wearing dark framed glasses, a beige jacket, white shirt, black trousers and black shoes.
It is possible that his name is Mikey and that he was a visitor to the town.
PC Lee Yates, of Harrogate Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:
Thankfully neither the woman or girl suffered any physical harm as a result of these incidents. However, they were both naturally left upset by their experience.
If you recognise the suspect, I urge you to contact the police straight away as I need to speak to him about these incidents.
I am also urging the man himself to come forward so that I can understand his version of events.
Anyone who can help officers to progress this enquiry is asked to contact Harrogate police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Lee Yates. Alternatively information can be emailed to lee.yates@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
