York police have issued CCTV of two men they need to trace following a burglary in the city.
It occurred at 12.30am on Saturday 24 August 2013, at Cavendish Jewellers, Stonegate.
The offenders used a ladder to gain entry to a first floor room at the rear of the property. However, they left empty handed when the security alarm sounded.
Both men are described as being in their mid-twenties with short dark hair. One of the men was wearing a dark coloured patterned sweatshirt and jeans. The other was also wearing a dark sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms, which may have paint stains on them.
PC Tom Copeland, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:
If either of the men caught on CCTV is you and you are not involved in the burglary, I urge you to come forward so that I can eliminate you from my enquiries.
I also need to speak to anyone who can help to identify the men and as them to get in touch straight away.
Anyone who can help with this investigation is asked to contact York police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Tom Copeland. Alternatively information can be emailed to tom.copeland@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
