Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle is to judge ‘Best in Show’ at Sunday’s Bentley Bark annual dog show.
A keen dog owner himself, actor Jeff Hordley who plays bad boy Cain Dingle in the soap, will also help judge other classes at the show being held at Wetherby High School this Sunday (11 August).
Dogs will have the chance to strut their stuff in 12 classes – ranging from ‘best sausage catcher’ to ‘best freestyle trick’ – to get their paws on prizes including a £150 voucher for Pets at Home.
The family fun day will also include a have-a-go dog agility course and demonstrations from security dogs, along with stalls, bouncy castles and food stands. New for 2013, Yorkshire Ales will be showcasing their ‘Bentley Bark Beer’ – brewed especially for the event.
All proceeds will go to Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Retired Greyhound Trust.
Wetherby-based pet care provider The Dog Walker is principal sponsor of the event as well as one of the main organisers. Managing director Richie Womersley said:
A great day out for dog lovers and families just got even better! In a coup for the show, bad boy Cain Dingle will help us judge the very best dogs at the show. Funds are being raised for two great charities and all are welcome.
The day will run from 10am-4pm with admission £1 and under-fives going free. Pre-register your dog for a class online at www.bentleybark.co.uk to participate in an extra class for free.
