Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 took part in a Masterchef competition to determine the most promising young chef at Harrogate Grammar School. They submitted their choice of a two course healthy eating menu that could be completed in one hour.
Preliminary heats were held for each Year as the students battled to show off their practical skills and presentation techniques to rival Jamie Oliver himself!
The winner from each Year devised a different menu for the final to impress the judges, especially Executive Chef David Carrack who had the difficult task of making the final decision. All the students thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and David was so impressed with the standard that he selected two of the winner’s products to be included in the Hub menus.
The Harrogate Grammar School 2013 Masterchef was won by Alicia Kernaghanfrom Year 7. Odysseus Kalantaridis (Year 9) came second and Fiona Boulton (Year 8) in third place.
