Visit Harrogate, the district’s Destination Management Organisation, has won its first major sponsor to support its drive to promote the area to tourists and business visitors.
Skincare specialist H2K of Harrogate is the first business to join Visit Harrogate’s sponsorship programme which will support the organisation’s promotion of the district.
H2K was founded by Managing Director Hazel Barry in Howarth in 2000 and she moved the business to Harrogate six years later. Last year saw a rebrand, with the company adding “of Harrogate” to its name.
Hazel said:
Being a spa town, Harrogate is a good fit with our skincare and spa products and adding the town’s name to our brand has paid dividends, particularly in our Middle Eastern markets where we have doubled turnover.
Now we want to put back something into the community in the district and supporting Visit Harrogate, which demonstrates the region’s attractions and assets, seems a great way to do that.
Visit Harrogate Project Director Angela Harris said:
We are delighted to welcome H2K of Harrogate as our first major sponsor and we look forward to working with Hazel to underline the very positive benefits of a visit to Harrogate.
We have a range of sponsorship opportunities available and I look forward to working with more businesses from the district.
Visit Harrogate aims not only to bring more visitors to the district but to encourage those who already come to stay longer.
The Harrogate district, which reaches as far as Masham in the north, Boroughbridge in the east, Harewood in the south and almost to Skipton in the west, already has 23,000 full-time jobs which are dependent on its £678m earnings from tourism every year.
