A 76-year-old local woman was this morning in a collision with a vehicle in Ripon.
It occurred shortly after 8am (Friday 10 May 2013), on Water Skellgate, involving a green Nissan X-Trail. The woman was a pedestrian, and was walking her dogs.
As a result of the incident the woman is now in Harrogate District Hospital in a serious condition.
Her Labrador dogs are receiving treatment at a local veterinary surgery for minor injuries.
The driver of the X-Trail suffered from shock but was otherwise not injured.
The road reopened at around 11.30am.
