A man was attacked at around 4pm on Thursday 18 April 2013, on St Andrew’s Crescent in Harrogate by three men who hit him with what police believe to be wooden implements, before running off, leaving the victim seriously injured.
The victim, who is in his forties and from Harrogate, sustained serious abdominal and facial injuries and was admitted to the intensive care unit at Harrogate District Hospital. His current condition is described as stable.
Detective Sergeant Fionna McEwan of Harrogate CID, said:
This was a nasty and vicious assault which has left he victim with serious injuries. It’s vital that anyone who was on St Andrew’s Crescent at the time, gets in touch with the police. Even if you didn’t witness the incident, but saw suspicious activity or vehicles, please call us as your information could be valuable to our investigation.
It is rare for an assault of this nature to occur in Harrogate, particularly in broad daylight and we believe it was an isolated incident and the wider public were not at risk.
