Detectives investigating the murder of a 19-year-old man in Scarborough have made a further seven arrests in connection with the inquiry.
Michael Vincent Graham died just before midnight on Saturday 13 April 2013 following a stabbing incident near the Olympia amusement arcades on Foreshore Road.
A 17-year-old youth also suffered a stab wound to a leg during the same incident. He is in a stable condition at Scarborough District Hospital.
Two males aged in their late teens were arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning. They remain in custody for questioning
As the result of further detailed enquiries by North Yorkshire Police, a further four males and three females, all aged in their teens, have been arrested.
A number of these are still being questioned in custody regarding their involvement in the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The incident scene remains cordoned off as police enquiries continue.
Michael Graham’s family has issued the following statement:
We are absolutely devastated by what has happened to Mickey and we’re struggling to come to terms with the fact that he has gone.
We hope those responsible for his death are brought to justice.
Michael’s family, who are being supported by specially trained police officers, has requested that the media respects their privacy at this difficult time.
