Rail made a slow start to the game and within 10 minutes they paid the price as they went two nil down.
On three minutes a move down Rails left ended up with Liam Dawson striking the ball well just inside the area to beat Sam Dobbs down to his left. Things got worse as 6 minutes later tall central defender James McCarten was left with a free header at the near post from a corner too double the visitors lead. Rail recovered from the initial shock but things were made a bit harder when striker Liam Hardy have to go off with an injury midway through the half.
The game was evenly matched from then on but Rail couldn’t find a way through. The second-half was pretty much the same but Rail were suddenly starting to create chances as Nathan Cartman missed a chance to narrow the score. Warrington still looked dangerous but Rails defence held out.
Danny Hull was causing Town a few problems down both sides and it was his run that set up Nathan Cartman to score from close in with five minutes to go.
Despite Rail pushing forward they couldn’t find an equaliser in the remaining minutes.
