A man wanted by police for a serious assault in Ripon has been charged with five offences.
Ashley Paul Watson, 18, was arrested yesterday (7 March 2013) following a public appeal to trace him after a 20-year-old woman was assaulted in Ripon on Sunday 3 March and suffered serious facial injuries.
Watson has been charged with:
- Section 18 wounding with intent
- Assault by beating
- Affray
- Criminal damage
- Theft of a kitchen knife
A section 18 conviction can carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 9 March 2013.
