A 34-year-old local man was attacked near the taxi rank on Station Parade in Harrogate at around 5.30pm on Wednesday 27 February 2013.
Following the incident a 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and subsequently released on police bail as enquiries continue.
The victim suffered bruising and swelling to his face but luckily did not require hospital treatment.
Police Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them with information.
