Harrogate – the consultation with residents on the proposal to lease part of the Pinewoods to the RHS has been extended. The consultation has been extended for a further month and is now due to end on 15 March.
It has also been agreed that any decision will be taken by the full Cabinet, not just by the Cabinet Member for Cultural Services.
Harlow Councillor Jim Clark has welcomed this news:
I am pleased the consultation has been extended because it gives a chance for more residents to make their views known. I know people feel particularly strongly about this issue.
I am also pleased that any decision will be made by the full Cabinet because it is such an important matter which needs careful consideration.
The Cabinet will consider the matter on 22 May after further consultation with planning and highways.
As well as keeping residents informed about the consultation Jim, and Harlow Moor Councillor Don Mackenzie, have been raising concerns about the traffic problems on Crag Lane with highways engineers.
