The Yorkshire Event Centre and Pavilions of Harrogate, on the Great Yorkshire Showground, have reported that they grew their business substantially in 2012.
New events included hosting a scout camp for over 4,500 scouts and in June the venue had a major “first” when the rock star, Elton John, entertained an audience of over 11,000 in the main ring – a great time was had by all, despite the Great British weather.
The wide variety of events held at the Yorkshire Event Centre continued throughout the year with over 5,000 Citroen enthusiasts from all over the world, some driving rare and classic Citroen cars, coming to site for a weekend in August and then in November the Harrogate Boxing Club held its first competition evening in Hall 2.
Many regular events returned in 2012, with the North of England Woodworking and Power Tool Show enjoying its biggest show ever, with more exhibitors, visitors and attractions than ever before.
Pavilions of Harrogate hosted over 470 events in 2012 which included many new events ranging from dinner with Adam Henson, from BBC Countryfile, 14 charity balls, 27 weddings, the Pike Anglers of Great Britain conference and exhibition and a Thai boxing competition in September.
The year ended on a high, with Pavilions having its highest attendance for Christmas party nights ever.
Managing Director, Heather Parry said:
Like all businesses we were nervous going into 2012 but we are delighted with the outcome. We deliver exceptional food and service and our reputation continues to grow. Thanks go to all our customers and our hard working team.
