Dan talked to year seven, eight and nine students about his experiences in football, how he became an author and he gave advice to the students about their own aspirations. He finished the day by signing books for the students.

Learning Resource Centre Manager, Jane Benham said:

“Dan’s books are some of the most popular in the Accelerated Reader Program and there was great excitement amongst the students leading up to his visit.  They were enthralled to hear about his journey from starting as a budding football player, achieving success as a sports journalist and how he became an accomplished children’s author. Dan proved an inspiration to our students.

Dan Freedman said:

It has been a great day coming to Harrogate High School. Seeing students who love to read your books, as I have here, is what I do it all for – after all they are my bosses as I write for them!
