St Aidan’s School reading club, STAR Group, welcomed local author Amy Keen to their meeting last week. Amy, author of Embers, the first book of a trilogy published by Fisher King, entertained the group with her experiences of the writing process and her excitement at having her first novel published.
The lively group, ranging in age from 11 – 16, meet once a month to discuss all things literary and had so many questions to ask that they ran out of time!
Amy commented:
It was a pleasure to meet the STAR Reading Group. Having the opportunity to share my experiences and answer some excellent questions with a group of such articulate, passionate young readers was wonderful.
She has promised to return to the school in the future after the publication of her second book, Ashes, this spring.
