York police are appealing for help to identify two suspected shoplifters following a theft of showers in the city.
They were caught on CCTV in the B&Q store on Osbaldwick Link Road, at 6.45pm on Thursday 3 January 2013. It is believed that they stole 18 Mira shower units valued at around £3,500.
The first man is white, aged from 30 to 35, around 6ft tall with a slim build and short dark hair. At the time he was wearing a black hoodie with beige shoulders.
The second man is white, aged in his late 20s, approximately 5ft 7in tall with a medium build. He is distinctive as he has part of his left ear missing. He was wearing a black jumper, blue polo shirt and blue jeans.
PC Tony Barnes, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:
I am appealing to the two men to come forward if there has been a misunderstanding and they are not involved with this theft, so that I can eliminated them from my enquiries.
If you recognise either of the men caught on camera, please contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.
I would also like to speak to anyone who may have been offered a shower unit in unusual circumstances and ask them to get in touch.
Anyone who can help to identify either of these men is asked to contact York police on 101, press option 2 and ask for Tony Barnes. Alternatively information can be emailed to tony.barnes@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12130003566.
