North Yorkshire Police were called at around 4.10pm on Wednesday 2 January 2013 after reports of a road traffic collision at Warren Place, Harrogate.
The collision involved a grey Peugeot and an eight-year-old girl.
The girl suffered a serious leg injury in the incident and was taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment.
The girl had a operation that night which put her in full leg plaster and was then admitted on 8 January 2013, where she has had a further operation to have external fixation – metal framework with pins to keep bones in place.
The driver of the car, a 76-year-old woman, was uninjured in the incident.
