North Yorkshire Police were called at around 6.10pm on Thursday 3 January 2013 after reports of a road traffic collision on Skipton Road, Harrogate.
A blue BMW came off the road at the junction with Devonshire Place and collided with a road sign.
The driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old local woman, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and driving without due care and attention.
She was later charged with both offences and is due to appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 24 January 2013.
