Police hunting York pub assault suspect

Detectives are appealing to the public to help them trace a man who is wanted in connection with a violent assault at a York pub.

Officers would like to speak to Ryan MacLeod, aged 21, of Tuke Avenue, York, after a 32-year-old local man was attacked at the Castle Howard Ox, on Townend Street, on Saturday 10 November 2012.

The victim needed a large number of stitches to a facial injury after a was assaulted by a number of men in the pub’s smoking area in the early hours of the morning.

Officers have arrested and bailed three men aged 18, 21, and 24 in connection with the incident, however they are still keen to locate MacLeod.

Inspector Dave Kirby, of York police, said:

This was a nasty assault which left the victim suffering from a serious injury to his face.

We would like to speak to Ryan MacLeod in connection with the incident and I am urging the public to help us to find him.

MacLeod is a local man and I believe he is still in the York area. If anyone knows where he is, or where he is staying please contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

Anyone who can help officers to locate Ryan MacLeod is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for York police.
