Saffery Champness has strengthened its tax department and senior management team with the appointment of chartered accountant and chartered tax advisor Sally Thomas.
Sally, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners with almost 30 years’ experience in the accountancy profession, joins the Harrogate firm from PwC in Leeds.
Commenting on her move to the firm she said Saffery Champness was well-known and highly respected for its private client work, an area she has specialised in for 25 years.
Sally Thomas said:
I have spent most of my career working with Yorkshire businesses and their families and high net worth individuals, including those on the Sunday Times Rich List, advising on all aspects of their taxation affairs including income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax.
Saffery Champness is widely recognised as a leader in this area and I am looking forward to continuing my career with the firm and contributing to the expansion of its private client work across the region.
Martin Holden, head of office at Saffery Champness, said Sally’s experience in the firm’s core market of owner managed businesses and their families would be invaluable as it pressed ahead with its growth plans.
Martin Holden said:
This is a significant senior appointment for the firm and signifies our commitment to growth in the region.
We are delighted to be attracting highly experienced individuals like Sally to our team as we push ahead with recruitment at all levels of the business as part of a long term investment strategy for our Yorkshire operations.
