A talented cabinet maker – who has created themed sets for two of the UK’s best-known historical attractions – has joined the growing ranks of a Harrogate-based quantity surveying company.
Matt Ingall-Tombs, 25, has been recruited as an assistant quantity surveyor by Cooper and Hall, taking the workforce total to nine.
The company, based at Pannal Business Park, has recently provided specialist advice to contractors working on a number of major construction projects in London, as well as working on more local projects at Harrogate Ladies’ College and Sedbergh School.
Cooper & Hall director Phil Cooper said:
Matt is the second new recruit to join Cooper and Hall this year. Despite the challenging economic climate facing many in the construction industry, our services are being called on by a host of different clients.
Matt brings a number of skills with him and he will be assisting the quantity surveyors on a variety of projects. In addition to the hands on experience he is gaining from us, he is also studying for a Quantity Surveying degree.
Matt said:
I’m very grateful to Phil and the Cooper and Hall team for giving me this valuable opportunity. Since leaving school I’ve always worked in the property and construction industry, albeit on a small scale.
Cooper and Hall are very well-respected in the industry, and I’m looking forward to developing and expanding my skills under the guidance and support of a first-class team.
Prior to joining Cooper and Hall, Matt, who grew up in Ripon, helped create themed sets for the Titanic Museum in Belfast and the Tower of London. After leaving school, he worked as a joiner and cabinet maker before moving to Cyprus, where he worked for a property development business renovating and building houses.
