Letter: RAF in Concert Diamond Jubilee performance at the Royal Hall

5 December 2012

From ACM Sir John Cheshire KBE, CB, FRAeS
Chairman
Royal Air Force Charitable Trust

Sir/Madam

May I, through your columns, thank all those who attended the recent sell-out RAF in Concert Diamond Jubilee performance at the Royal Hall, Harrogate, which was staged in support of the RAF Charitable Trust.

The musicianship was of the highest order and the feedback we have received from the audience has been incredibly positive.

The concert programme was performed in aid of the RAF Charitable Trust, one of three major RAF charities. The objective of the Trust is to distribute money to the worthiest of causes for the benefit of the wider RAF family. In this category are not only serving personnel and their dependants; but also young people – with particular emphasis on air cadets and underprivileged youth; and, of course, projects to help RAF veterans. During the past seven years, the Trust has donated more than £1.75 million to help those most in need.

On behalf of all my fellow Trustees, I would like to thank all those who, by supporting our concert at the Royal Hall have helped us to help others so very much less fortunate than ourselves. We look forward to welcoming them all back again, next year, for another memorable and enjoyable performance.
