John Craven, star of Newsround and Countryfile, will spread a little Christmas Cheer this Saturday when he opens the Bishop Monkton School’s Christmas Fayre in the Bishop Monkton village hall.
The Christmas Fayre has become one of our key events in the fundraising calendar. Now in its fifth year, the Fayre has proven to be a real success and we hope that this year will be just as popular – if not more so.
Chair of the Friends of School committee, Gina Allen said:
Friends of School is working with the school to overhaul the school’s front playground; we are really hoping that the Fayre will be an enormous step in achieving that aim.
Everyone is invited and welcome on 8 December between 10am and 2pm. It could be the perfect opportunity for you to finish your Christmas shopping and for a wish or two to be made with Santa! We are really excited that John Craven will be able to join us for half an hour from 10:15 to officially open the day; it’s amazing support for us and really hope that local people will enjoy the day. This year we have some great stall holders including those selling scarves, jewellery, plants, toys and gifts. There will also be a tombola stall (donations gratefully received) and cake stall as well as a children’s craft area.
The Fayre will open from 10am with admission prices at £1.50 per adult and 50p per child. Admission includes a free drink and mince pie/biscuit. Turkey/ sausage sandwiches will be on sale all day.
