Harrogate Railway Ladies were away to Ossett Town Ladies today in the league. Railway got off to a great start after 3 minutes where Dee Swales crossed a ball from the left hand side for Jodi Hodgeson to volley home left footed from 10 yards 0-1. Ossett immediately put railway under pressure & after numerous attempts at goal a long ball split the rail defence in 2 and the Ossett striker tucked it in the corner, 1–1
Ossett were playing the better football as railway struggled to get to grips with the game. On 40 minutes Railway conceded a penalty after sloppy play at the back & Ossett duely converted, 2-1 half time.
After a half time where Railway were told to up it in every department, the team, to their credit, reacted. Within 2 minutes Hannah Campbell & Dee Swales had tested the Ossett keeper. The midfield had regained its shape & the pressure was mounting.
On 65 minutes, Ellie Macleod played a neat pass for Hannah Campbell to arrive at the edge of the box & fire home, 2-2. Attack after attack fell on the Osset goal & Railways pressure paid when Ali Purvis crossed neatly for Hannah Campbell to claim her 2nd of the game on 75 minutes, 2-3.
Joint players of the match were Hannah Campbell & Ellie Macleod. Railway will again need to up there game for the league cup game away to Brayton next week.
