13-year old singer/songwriter Billie Tweddle has just confirmed an endorsement from Thorpe Arch-based Tanglewood Guitars.
Billie, who lives in Ripon, has been writing music since she was eight years old, but has only recently ventured out to play gigs – her first one being filmed for Harrogate’s internet music showcase channel Ont’ Sofa.
Tony Flatt, Managing Director of Tanglewood Guitars, was delighted to see such a talented artist beginning to make her way in the music business, and has helped to provide her with an instrument.
Billie commented:
I’m thrilled with my new guitar, and I’m sure it will inspire some new songs and ideas.
Billie is slowly building up her gigging experience, and recently performed for Ont’ Sofa at the London headquarters of Gibson Guitars. She covered Book Of Love by Magnetic Fields and a debuted a new self-penned song called Headlights.
Ben Davis from Ont’ Sofa said:
We are so happy to be working with Billie. Being able to offer the Gibson Sessions, gigs and filming as experience is a vital part of her development. No doubt with a few years of learning and writing behind her, Billie can go on to do some great things.
Ont’ Sofa are helping Billie with her songs, videos, on-line content and booking gigs. There will be a new website up soon but for now you can find Billie’s music by going to YouTube and searching for ‘Billie Tweddle Ont’ Sofa’. Billie is also on Twitter – @billietweddle
Ont’ Sofa launched their innovative recording sessions in Spring 2012 and have featured many artists including Lucy Spraggan who is currently a finalist in X-factor.
Billie is playing at Bivouac at Druid’s Temple near Masham on the 1st November and at Jakes Restaurant in Harrogate on the 7th November.
