A pair of fundraisers who donned their walking boots and took part in the Saint Michael’s Midnight Walk, supported by Engage Mutual, have been rewarded with a special treat.
Janice Bettison, from Harrogate was given a luxurious Betty’s hamper while Anna Swales, from Ripley won a family ticket to Lightwater Valley, thanks to walk sponsor, Engage Mutual.
The duo were entered into the prize draw for returning their sponsorship money ahead of the September deadline and selected at random to receive the prizes. Janice and Anna were presented with their prizes at Saint Michael’s Hospice by Engage Mutual’s corporate mascot, Sid the Savings Pig.
Speaking of her prize win, Janice said:
I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the walk and raising money for a fantastic cause, to have won a prize for taking part is great.
I’d like to thank both Saint Michael’s and Engage Mutual for their generosity.
The raffle was held to incentivise the early return of funds to Saint Michael’s but also to reward participants for their fundraising efforts which are invaluable in ensuring the continued provision of services from Saint Michael’s in the Harrogate area.
To-date the event has raised more than £72,000 and participants are reminded that if they have not yet returned their sponsorship money that it is not too late to do so.
Chief Executive of Saint Michael’s, Tony Collins, added:
Without the support of local businesses such as Engage Mutual and the generosity of the local community we would face a much harder task in ensuring the continued delivery of our services.
I’d like to thank Janice and Anna for their participation in this year’s walk, as well as all the other walkers and volunteers who gave their time and money so generously again this year.
