The fire service received a call at 19:07 on 12 October 2012 of a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A59 with a person trapped. Fire appliances from Knaresborough and Harrogate responded.
On arrival they found the female driver in an Audi Q3 had become trapped in her vehicle after colliding with a van.
After approximately thirty minutes the woman was released by the firecrews removing the car’s roof with hydraulic cutting equipment, stabilisation kit, and lighting.
Suffering suspected neck and spinal injuries, she was then transported to hospital by ambulance.
