2 October 2012

Officers in Hambleton and Richmondshire are appealing for the public’s help to locate a Thirsk man wanted for recall to prison.

Joshua Lee Sargent, 20, who was released from prison on Friday 14 September 2012, is wanted for recall as he has breached the terms of his release licence by not living at a specified address.

He was sentenced to three year’s imprisonment in April 2011 for a robbery committed in Market Place East, Ripon, in March 2011.

Sargent is white, 5ft 11in tall, medium build, with short blond hair and a spotty face.

Although his whereabouts are unknown, Sargent was living in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and he is from Thirsk in North Yorkshire.

Acting Chief Inspector Mark Gee, of Hambleton and Richmondshire Safer Neighbourhood Command, said:

Joshua, if you see or hear this appeal, I urge you to hand yourself in to the nearest police station immediately. Every day that you remain at large will only increase the term of your sentence when you are caught.

If anyone knows where Joshua Sargent is or you have seen a man matching his description, please contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away. You are not doing him or society any favours by allowing him to evade justice. Officers will continue to check with known associates, visit likely addresses and continue the search to locate and arrest him.

Anyone who can help to locate Joshua Sargent should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass the information to the Force Control Room.
