Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a three-vehicle collision near Ripon on Sunday 23 September 2012.
The collision occurred approximately one mile out of Ripon on the B6265 Ripon to Boroughbridge Road at around 10.30am.
A black Fiat hatchback travelling towards Ripon, collided with a blue Volkswagen hatchback and a red Mercedes both travelling in the opposite direction.
A passenger travelling in the Mercedes, 41-year-old Lloyd William Edwards from Ripon was taken to Harrogate District Hospital following the collision, but Mr Edwards sadly died from his injuries on Tuesday 25 September 2012.
The driver of the Mercedes, a woman in her fifties from the Ripon area sustained slight injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Fiat, a local man in his 20s also received hospital treatment and has since been arrested (on Monday 1 October) in connection with the collision. He is currently in police custody for questioning.
The occupants of the Volkswagen were uninjured.
Police investigating the collision want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw a black Fiat hatchback travelling along the Boroughbridge to Ripon road on the morning of Sunday 23 September 2012.
