On Thursday 30th August, eight corporate teams joined Belzona Polymerics Limited to enjoy the first Belzona Invitational Golf Day. With funds being raised and donated to Water Aid, the event was hugely enjoyable and successful. The 19th Century Parkland at Rudding Park, North Yorkshire provided a challenge for even the most seasoned golfers!
With a variety of corporate teams competing from across the UK, representing many of the key industries that Belzona supply and service including oil & gas, power generation and water/wastewater, the event generated valuable funds for Water Aid’s Big Dig appeal.
After an initial downpour, the clouds parted and teams of four approached the first tee, armed with two ‘mulligan’ cards that could be exchanged for free shots.
By the evening, competitors were ready to celebrate after the day’s exertions, whilst enjoying a three course meal at Rudding Park Hotel. Water Aid in Yorkshire’s Vice Chairman David McGlinchey was on hand to explain the importance of the work Water Aid does. The funds raised will directly support the Big Dig appeal, which aims to help people in the world’s poorest countries gain access to clean water and safe sanitation for the first time.
National Sales Manager, Gordon Cairns commented:
May I give my personal thanks to everyone for their donations to Water Aid – the event was a great success and I’m pleased to confirm that we shall continue to support this charity in future events – we’ll keep you informed of our plans to raise even more money next time.
Belzona has said it would like to thank its customers that supported the event and Rudding Park Golf Club who looked after everyone so well on the day.
