Police were called at around 3am on Saturday, 1 September 2012, after reports of a collision on Parliament Street where a grey Rover 400 had crashed into railings.
The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old man, was arrested nearby on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
He has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
